The name of the tea refers to the golden tips and the look of the leaves, which are expertly hand-rolled into tightly curled spirals ('snails'). A lovely balanced black tea, with a slight natural sweetness, and a bit of astringency and hints of cocoa. Great with or without milk or sugar.
Ingredients: Yunnan "Golden Snail" Black Tea
Steeping Instructions: use one teaspoon of leaves for every 8 fl oz 212°F/100°C water; steep for 3-5 minutes.
About the tea: The tea comes from the Yunnan province in China. Growing conditions such as misty mountains, rich soil and plentiful water aid in the amazing flavor of this tea. This rolling process allows the tea leaves to unfurl slowly over the course of two to three steepings, giving this tea multiple high quality infusions, unlike many other black teas.
Suggestion(s): Milk and sugar are not needed, but can be added to taste. Makes fantastic as iced tea.
Per 2 oz tea, you get approximately 25-30 cups of tea.
